The White Heron, also known as the Great White Egret, is an elegant and statuesque bird with a pure white feather-coloration. All adult members, both males and females, have similar physical traits with no significant differences. It has a long and slender yellow beak shaped like a dagger, which contrasts against its dark black legs and feet. The eye of the White Heron is also yellow, making its head a stunning mix of white, yellow, and black. During the breeding season, its plumage becomes more beautiful, with a mane of long, delicate feathers flourishing on its back.

White Herons are large birds, with an average body length of 80-104 cm (31-40 inches). The wingspan of these magnificent birds spans across 131-170 cm (52-67 inches), which allows them to glide effortlessly above water bodies. The weight of this bird species is typically around 1-1.5 kg (2.2-3.3 lbs).

Being largely aquatic, the White Heron inhabits freshwater or saltwater wetland environments. Habitats can range from lakes, rivers, marshes, ponds and seashores to damp grasslands and flooded fields. They are widespread birds and are found across continents.
